Released on September 8, 2016, Nowhere Cool arrived as a 14 track project that brought together M.anifest’s sharp writing, Ghanaian identity and a wide range of sounds and collaborators. A decade later, the album remains an important part of his catalogue and a project that helped define a particular period in Ghanaian music.
M.anifest announced the milestone on September 8, marking the exact tenth anniversary of the album and thanking the listeners who had given the project a lasting place in the culture. He also announced The Nowhere Cool @ 10 Live Experience, a one night celebration built around the album.

The celebration is set for Saturday, October 24, 2026 at the Accra Polo Club. The idea is simple but significant: the entire Nowhere Cool album will be performed live. Tickets are currently listed from GH₵300, with early bird tickets available.
For an album that has always been closely tied to Accra, the setting feels fitting.
At the time of its release, M.anifest described Accra as a major influence on the project, calling the city a mixture of innovation, joy, frustration, freedom, congestion and everyday absurdity. For him, the city’s energy was already embedded in the music.
That relationship between the album and its environment is part of what has allowed Nowhere Cool to age differently from a lot of music from its era. The project did not depend entirely on chasing whatever was popular at the time. Instead, M.anifest leaned into his own voice, bringing together hip hop, highlife and other African influences while working with artists including Worlasi, Cina Soul, Tumi Molekane, Brymo, Paapa, Dex Kwasi and Nomisupasta.
The album also carried a deeper literary connection. Its title draws from Ghanaian writer Ama Ata Aidoo’s Nowhere Cool, while the album itself explores different sides of life, identity, relationships, society and the experience of being a creative.
Ten years on, the timing offers an opportunity to hear those songs outside the context in which they were originally released. Some albums belong to a particular moment. Others become part of the memories people attach to that moment. Nowhere Cool has managed to do both.

The anniversary is therefore more than a look back at a 2016 release. It is a chance to revisit a body of work that has continued to travel with its audience, while introducing it to people who may have discovered M.anifest long after the album first arrived.
On October 24, the album gets to return to the city that helped shape it, this time with the benefit of ten years of distance, memory and perspective.
Nowhere Cool is 10. Accra gets to hear it again, from beginning to end, live.
